Why moringa is good for your skin?
Moringa (Moringa Oleifera) oil is a super emollient that helps to restore your skin’s natural oils, thereby improving moisture retention and enhancing skin hydration. It helps to restore the skin’s healthy barrier protection and slows trans-epidermal water loss through the epidermis of the skin. Increased transepidermal water loss occurs when the skin’s protective barrier is impaired allowing excess moisture to evaporate from the skin, resulting in dry, dehydrated or irritated skin.
Moringa oil has a fatty acid profile that allows its nutrients to penetrate into your skin tissue, helping to promote cell growth and rejuvenation of the skin. This in turn helps in reducing fine lines and sagging skin. The behenic acid content in moringa oil makes it a favoured anti-aging weapon.
Moringa is also a known adaptogen. Adaptogens help our skin to adapt to environmental stressors (pollution, oxidation, UV-rays, etc) that can accelerate visible signs of aging. Skincare with moringa helps to modulate the skin’s response to these stresses, calming the skin’s inflammatory response. It also aids in improving sensitive skin conditions and minimise dark spots.
